Gort Cancer Support
Gort Cancer Support was established in June 2007 to provide support and practical assistance to people affected by a cancer diagnosis. We adopt a holistic approach towards our clients and their family members by providing a range of activities and social events which will enhance our clients wellbeing and coping skills. Our cancer support centre is managed and operated by trained volunteers with the assistance of administrative staff and professional therapists. We offer a home from home environment where one will feel relaxed and welcome.
Our Registered Charity Number (RCN) is 20075927.
The year has flown by & it’s time for our final Peer Support Group of 2025.
This group is open to anyone with a cancer diagnosis who would like a confidential space to share feelings & experiences. It’s an opportunity to connect with others who truly understand, all within the safe & welcoming environment of Hollyblue House. Our sessions are facilitated by our dedicated counsellor, Anne Gallagher, ensuring a supportive & caring atmosphere.
Join us next Tuesday for a warm chat over mince pies & a cup of tea or coffee.

Today, on International Volunteer Day, we celebrate the incredible team of volunteers who help keep Gort Cancer Support running. From our dedicated management committee to the volunteer drivers who provide vital transport, from those who care for our garden to our warm & welcoming ‘Meet and Greet’ team at Hollyblue House, every contribution matters.
We’re proud to have around 60 volunteers giving their time & energy in so many ways. We’re sorry we couldn’t include everyone in the photo but please know that each & every one of you is valued & appreciated.
