Gort Cancer Support
Gort Cancer Support was established in June 2007 to provide support and practical assistance to people affected by a cancer diagnosis. We adopt a holistic approach towards our clients and their family members by providing a range of activities and social events which will enhance our clients wellbeing and coping skills. Our cancer support centre is managed and operated by trained volunteers with the assistance of administrative staff and professional therapists. We offer a home from home environment where one will feel relaxed and welcome.
Our Registered Charity Number (RCN) is 20075927.
On International Day of Friendship, we recognise the people who show up, listen without judgment, offer encouragement & remind us that no one has to face difficult times alone.

World Head & Neck Cancer Day is an opportunity to raise awareness of head & neck cancers & the importance of recognising the early signs.
Head & neck cancers can affect the mouth, throat, voice box (larynx) & nose. Early detection can make a significant difference.
Signs to look out for include:
• A painless lump in the neck
• A mouth ulcer or sore that doesn't heal
• A persistent hoarse voice
• Pain or difficulty swallowing
• Loose teeth without an obvious cause
• Frequent nosebleeds or a blocked nose
• Persistent ear pain
• Unexplained weight loss
If you notice any of these symptoms or have concerns about persistent changes in your body, please contact your GP.
If in doubt, get it checked. Early detection can help save lives.
