We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Bernie Fahey & the team at Gort Co Operative Mart Ltd for their fantastic support in organising their charity sheep auction last month in aid of our charity. Cara & Mary are pictured here receiving a cheque for over €4,200 from Bernie at today's sheep mart.
We are so grateful to everyone who got involved, from those who generously donated items for the auction, to everyone who bid on & purchased items & to all who made a financial contribution.
Every donation, big or small, helps make a difference. The funds raised will help us continue providing vital support to people & families in our community living with the impact of a cancer diagnosis.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this fundraiser such a wonderful success. Your kindness & generosity are truly appreciated. 💙

Complementary therapies can be an important part of supporting people through cancer treatment, helping with wellbeing, relaxation, symptom management & quality of life. The key word is complementary: these therapies are used alongside medical treatment, not instead of it.
At Gort Cancer Support, we offer reflexology, acupuncture & oncology massage, available by appointment to anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis. Contact us on 086 1724500 to find out more about our complementary therapy services.
Please note that a medical consent form, signed by your oncologist or GP, may be required before treatment.

Have you completed your cancer treatment & are looking for support to help you move forward with confidence?
Cancer Thrive & Survive is a free, 6-week self-management programme designed to help people living with & beyond cancer regain confidence, improve wellbeing, & manage the physical & emotional challenges that can follow treatment.
Over the six weeks, participants explore topics such as:
• Managing fatigue & building energy
• Healthy eating & physical activity
• Coping with stress, anxiety & emotions
• Goal setting & problem solving
• Building confidence & resilience
• Living well beyond cancer & accessing ongoing support.
The programme will be facilitated by our Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Pam Watson (The CBT Lady), alongside a trained Peer Leader who has previously completed the programme themselves. Together, they offer both professional guidance & the valuable perspective of lived experience.
We’re hoping to run our next programme in late September, subject to sufficient numbers.
If you, or someone you know, would be interested in taking part, we’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch on 086 1724500 to register your interest or to find out more. Please feel free to share this post with anyone who may benefit.
